As usual, I
decided to travel because of love. This time, it was Sweden’s time.
That may
sound like a pretty obvious pattern, it is true nonetheless. I happen to find someone I
care about, it happens to be mutual and it so happens that either me or her are
on the way to some new place. There was no single moment in my life that I was
able to make things work because of imminent journey. However, this
is what I do: love will come second to my thirst for travel. And even though
both have a few things in common – that would be exploration, curiosity, being
uncertain, getting to know new people, and probably dozens of others – I still
believe traveling is not to be compromised because of feelings.
Especially
if it can give you closure. And even a friend.
So far, I
always chose to go, instead of staying in one place. No matter how coffee may seem more bitter than usual, how the wind may blow colder, how leaves seem to fall slower, how voices will tell you not to do it you while
riding the bus, how it may hurt to remember her on the train, how many tears will be shed on
the plane, how long it may take to put together the broken heart pieces on the
side of the road, how the drink doesn't seem to make it alright, who is going to stop
me from looking for happiness? Only myself.
And I don’t
like to hold myself back.
I move forward. I find peace. I explore who I am. Love will have to catch up. Good luck with that!
Believe me or not, this trip brought me wonderful times. And this is what this blog intension was from the beginning – to fight and overcome sadness and to hope for a brighter future. So pack your backpack, suck it up and go!

One of the first views - Lund Central. I was to meet with my first host for the first night not far from there. At Lunds Domkyrka. Or Lund Cathedral.
Which is how it looked like. It was way past sunset, and the view was just magnificent. Unfortunately, both my photography skills and camera sucks.
We were to ride for a bit to her home, so I was lent a bike. One of those that stop when you start to rotate the pedals i the opposite direction. Haven't rode one of those since I was learning how to ride a bike! It was even funnier when the chain decided to fall off in the middle of the street. Some Polish-mechanic skills came in handy.
This is more like it. The next day I had it all to myself to just walk around Lund with my backpack. For the next ten hours, I had Lund all to myself. But first, I had to get the bike back to where I took it from, and then deliver the keys back to my host.
View from northern side, in the park.
One of the streets that, for unknown reason, caught my eye.
Botanic garden. From what I remember, it goes back to 17th century.
Never a better place for an eagle statue than in the middle of botanic garden.
If black anchors are for pussies, then pink ones are for...?
And here is where magic begins. My host, Helene, is doing her PhD in Physics in Lund. Area of expertise? She is working with goddamn lasers! So, while dropping of the keys to the bike padlock, I decided to get the geek within out for a stroll and asked her, if she could show me around.
Yes, she could.
I was on my way soon enough. This would be one of the cemeteries in Lund. It is somewhat different from cemeteries you can find in most countries. They are more like parks - close to nature, fully accesible for people to take their time contemplating.
I never thought that this palace would be... a school for deaf-mute children.
All Saints Church
Funny, how you can interact with your flock. Just leave some colored paper, scissors, glue and pens and people will write down their wishes for others.
I thought I'd never see the day - Holy Bible in Arabic.
Soon after, I was to meet with another host, Karolina, a Polish student doing her PhD in Biomedicine in Lund. Since I am not the type to start making photos in the middle of a wonderful dinner, drink, and most importantly, talk, no photos here.
However, she showed me some interesting places I could go to. And this is exactly what I did the next day.
I went to Nimis... to see a book.
To Be Continued...
